Vogelsang Denies “Isildur1” in WSOP Paradise Showdown

Summary:
- Viktor “Isildur1” Blom finished runner-up in the $10,000 Super PLOSSUS after losing a key all-in on the final hand.
- Tom Vogelsang won his first WSOP bracelet and $609,800, marking only his second career WSOP cash.
- The final table featured several big names, including Yuri Dzivielevski and Phil Hellmuth, who fell short of the top spots.
Viktor “Isildur1” Blom was inches close to adding a new chapter to his wild poker legacy on Tuesday, but it didn’t break his way at the finish.
Playing in the Bahamas, he reached heads-up play in WSOP Paradise Event #7: the $10,000 Super PLOSSUS. One tough flop later, he had to settle for second place while Tom Vogelsang walked away with the bracelet.
Over $2.7 Million Prize Pool
The event drew 284 players and a prize pool of more than $2.7 million. For Blom, this was another deep run in what has become a steady tournament career. For Vogelsang, it was something even more unusual. Not only was it his first bracelet, it was just the second WSOP cash of his career and his first since 2021.
Several big names made strong pushes, including Phil Hellmuth. He briefly looked like he might chase down bracelet number 18 but finished 16th for $26,000. Sean Winter, Bryce Yockey, Kane Kalas and nearly 40 others also made the money but didn’t reach the final table.
Day 1 ended with 17 players left and a fast-paced Day 2 followed. By early evening, the final table was stacked with familiar talent, including Brazil’s Yuri Dzivielevski, who was hunting his fifth career bracelet.
The early bustouts came quickly: Dongwuk Moon went out in ninth for $48,000, followed by Tom-Aksel Bedell, Andreas Torbergsen, and Sean Rafael. Dzivielevski’s run ended in fifth for $143,000.
Once the field narrowed to the final four, Luo finished in fourth for $199,000. That left Blom, Vogelsang, and Thomas Eychenne to battle it out. Eychenne held the chip lead during three-handed play, but Vogelsang—short stacked more than once—kept finding ways to climb back. Eychenne eventually exited in third for $281,000.

Vogelsang: “The First Time I Really Think About Bracelets”
The heads-up match between Blom and Vogelsang was close until the decisive hand. With the money going in on an A-5-3 flop, Vogelsang held 9-7-4-2 against Blom’s A-A-5-6. When the board didn’t pair, Blom’s run ended and he took home $406,000. Vogelsang earned $609,800 and the gold bracelet.
After the win, Vogelsang talked about how unusual this whole moment felt.
I’ve always lived in the Netherlands where I couldn’t really play in the U.S., and I only moved this year
He added that this will be his first year playing a full Las Vegas World Series:
This is really the first time I really think about bracelets.
He also called Blom “super tough” and said the Swedish star was “running all over the final table“.
Blom may not have grabbed his first bracelet this week, but he continues to rewrite his reputation from mysterious online grinder to consistent live threat. His time may still come. For now, it’s Vogelsang who leaves WSOP Paradise as the newest champion.
