Summary:

  • The first WSOP Circuit series in Texas delivered a record-breaking turnout.
  • The circuit pais out more than $7.1 million across 18 events at TCH Social in Austin.
  • The Main Event created the largest prize pool ever seen in Texas poker.

The arrival of the World Series of Poker Circuit in Texas was always going to draw attention, but the scale of what unfolded in Austin went far beyond expectations.

The first-ever WSOP-branded series in the state turned into the biggest poker festival Texas has ever seen, both in entries and prize money.

11,545 Entries Generated $7.1 Million in Prize Money

Hosted at TCH Social in Austin, one of the largest poker venues operated by Texas Card House, the 18-event series guaranteed at least $2.1 million in prize money. By the time the final cards were dealt, that figure had ballooned to more than $7.1 million, with 11,545 total entries recorded across the schedule.

The average turnout of 641 players per event highlighted just how strong the demand was. Several tournaments drew massive fields, including a 2,562-entry Mini Main Event and multiple events exceeding 1,600 players.

It marked a clear signal that competitive poker has a strong and growing home in Texas.

$2.58 Million Main Event Prize Pool

The standout moment came in the $1,700 Main Event, which generated a record breaking $2.58 million prize pool, the largest ever seen in the state. Austin local Thomas Brabham claimed the title and a career defining $368,545 payday after outlasting a tough final table.

For Brabham, the victory was particularly meaningful in the context of his modest prior live earnings, proving just how fast otur luck can change, especially in a high-volume series like this.

The player managed to defeat David Mzareulov heads up, while Alexis Cruz Martinez rounded out the top three.

Beyond the Main Event, the series also featured established names like five-time bracelet winner Brad Ruben, who added another title in a mixed game event.

Across the board, the schedule delivered a mix of formats, from No Limit Hold’em to Omaha and specialty games, attracting a wide range of players.

With WSOP Circuit returning to Texas later in the year, this debut has already set a benchmark that will be difficult to match. For many in the poker world, it confirmed what has long been suspected: Texas is becoming one of the most active poker markets in the United States.
