Summary:
- Ryan Bambrick emerged victorious from Event #9 grabbing his second WSOP bracelet.
- Bambrick defeated Daniel Negreanu heads-up and reached a career-best of $470,000.
- Poker legend Viktor Blom was eliminated at the final table with a record-breaking 217 entries.
The most electrifying final table of the 2025 World Series of Poker so far came to a dramatic end with Ryan Bambrick emerging victorious in Event #9: $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship.
Bambrick on Victory: “It’s Kind of Surreal”
The New Jersey-born eliminated poker legends Daniel Negreanu and Viktor “Isildur1” Blom on his way to grabbing his second career bracelet and reaching a career-best payday mark of $470,437.
The event’s field of 217 entries set a new record, generating more than $2 million in prize money.
Bambrick remained sharp and aggressive throughout the final table, defeating Negreanu heads-up and denying the Canadian fan favorite his eighth bracelet. Negreanu earned $313,615 for his runner-up finish.
It’s pretty sweet to beat Daniel Negreanu and Isildur1 at the final table. I mean, it’s all good, it’s kind of surreal really.
With most of the rail clearly behind Negreanu, Bambrick wasn’t rattled.
For sure, everyone was clapping for him, but I had a couple of people clapping for me too. Honestly, I liked it, it didn’t intimidate me at all.
Bambrick Doubled His Career Live Tourney Earnings
This win marked Bambrick’s first five-figure buy-in cash and more than doubled his career live tournament earnings. Already a bracelet winner in PLO back in 2018, he’s now a perfect two-for-two in WSOP final tables.
“Focus and play for the win. Don’t worry about ICM, just play to win”, he said when asked what made the difference.
Coming into the final day with a solid stack, Bambrick quickly found momentum, overtaking Blom and scooping huge pots from the Swedish star.
Blom eventually busted in fourth after Bambrick rivered a flush.
Negreanu kept things interesting, especially after making quads to eliminate Ofir Mor and set up a heads-up showdown.
However, Bambrick held a commanding lead and kept the pressure on. A rivered full house sealed the deal for Bambrick when Negreanu got all-in with trips.
“Yeah, I’m probably going to play a pretty full slate this year”, Bambrick said of what’s next.
His win wasn’t just about the money or the bracelet, it was about stepping into the spotlight and owning it, even against two of poker’s biggest names.
