Summary:

  • Michael Mizrachi heads to the WSOP Main Event final table with a huge chip lead and a shot at $10M and another bracelet.
  • Phil Hellmuth and Daniel Negreanu publicly called for Mizrachi to be inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame right away.
  • Mizrachi has already won 7 WSOP bracelets, 2 WPT titles, and an unprecedented 4 Poker Players Championships.

Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi is on the brink of poker history, and some of the game’s biggest names say the Hall of Fame shouldn’t wait another day to honor him.

As Mizrachi sits just hours away from possibly winning the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event, Phil Hellmuth and Daniel Negreanu are calling for his immediate induction into the Poker Hall of Fame.

On Tuesday, Hellmuth, who also found himself in a separate spat with Nick Palma during the WSOP, posted a video on X alongside Negreanu, both making the case that Mizrachi’s accomplishments already speak for themselves.

Hellmuth said,

We all agree that if Grinder wins tomorrow, he should snap go into the Hall of Fame, and Daniel and I are really pushing for this, right Daniel?

Negreanu didn’t hold back, saying “The Grinder should have been in already” and calling him “a legend and an icon”.

He’s exactly what poker needs, a guy that proves you can have fun, enjoy the game, don’t take it too seriously, and dominate. And that’s what he’s been doing for decades.

The Torontonian with seven WSOP bracelets and two World Poker Tour (WPT) titles under his belt added.

Aiming for $10M and the Gold Bracelet

Mizrachi became Hall of Fame–eligible in 2021, having turned 40 that year, and he’s been a finalist before, but wasn’t even nominated this time.

Instead, Nick Schulman was inducted last week, an honor that drew widespread applause for the seven-time bracelet winner and respected commentator.

But Mizrachi is chasing something unprecedented. When play resumes Wednesday, he’ll sit at the final table with a towering chip lead, holding about 75% of all the chips in play.

He’s guaranteed at least $3 million and will aim for the $10 million top prize, and a gold bracelet that would cap a remarkable career.

His record is already unmatched: seven WSOP bracelets, two WPT titles, and an incredible four Poker Players Championship wins, in 2010, 2012, 2018, and 2025, respectively.

This year, just as he did in 2010, he’s managed to reach the Main Event final table in the same year he won the Poker Players Championship (PPC), a feat no one else has accomplished even once.

Mizrachi staged a stunning comeback earlier in the tournament, climbing from under four big blinds on Day 8 to his current dominant position.

Asked before the final table about his Hall of Fame chances, Mizrachi was measured:

I really felt like it was locked in after the fourth time in the PPC. This is just another level. If it doesn’t happen, it just motivates me even more.

If Hellmuth and Negreanu have their way, though, he won’t have to wait another year to be inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame.
