Summary:

  • Edward Jackson-Spivack won the $1,100 Omaha 8 or Better Championship days after taking down the $600 Limit T.O.R.S.E. event.
  • He topped a tough final table that included Jeff Madsen, Shirley Rosario, and Nick Pupillo.
  • After the quick heads-up win, he headed straight to register for the next event, saying he planned to play “literally everything.”

England’s Edward Jackson-Spivack didn’t cross the Atlantic just to soak in the Las Vegas lights. He came for the 2025 Chainsaw Mixed Series of Poker, and so far the trip has been worth every mile.

Only a few days after picking up the $600 Limit T.O.R.S.E. title, he jumped right back into action and won the $1,100 Omaha 8 or Better Championship, earning $18,411 and another trophy to pack for the flight home.

Not An Easy Win

This win didn’t come easy. The UK poker player had to get through a tough final table that included former WSOP Player of the Year Jeff Madsen, 2023 Mid-Major POY Nick Pupillo, and longtime Los Angeles mixed-game standout Shirley Rosario

When the dust settled, Madsen was the last player standing between Jackson-Spivack and the title. They’ve played together many times, and Jackson-Spivack didn’t hold back when asked about the dynamic.

The $1,100 Championship brought in 62 players for a total prize pool of $60,760. Twelve returned for Day 2 at Planet Hollywood, and it didn’t take long before the field started to thin.

Nathan Dewitt was the first out, followed by Joshua Chudnovsky, whose pair of kings couldn’t outrun Adam Walter’s aces to burst the bubble. Bracelet winner Tyler Patterson then bowed out in tenth place, setting the stage for the unofficial final table.

Quick Action

Even with split-pot dynamics, the high limits pushed the action along quickly. Pupillo briefly rallied from a short stack, just as he had on Day 1 when he spun 8,000 chips into a healthy bag, according to CMSOP founder Allen Kessler.

However, his run ended when his set of kings fell to Jackson-Spivack’s Broadway. Madsen followed that by sending Benjamin Miner to the rail in a blind-versus-blind hand, and Jackson-Spivack soon knocked out Rosario in a similar spot.

The final heads-up match didn’t last long. Madsen got his chips in but ran into Jackson-Spivack’s turned trips, sealing the win for the visiting Brit.

With $347,416 in Hendon Mob results before entering the event, Jackson-Spivack said he mainly plays PLO 8 and didn’t linger long for interviews.
