Heated Final Table Action
Day 2 saw 82 players return, all guaranteed at least $1,400. Bustouts came quickly, with many short stacks falling early. The pace slowed down once pay jumps increased, and players tightened up, vying for final table spots.
Familiar names like Michael Johns (67th), Max Steinberg (53rd), Casey Sandretto (49th), Jamie Kerstetter (39th), Nikki Limo (33rd), and last year’s winner Jonathan Wang (27th) all fell before the final table.
The final nine were led by Michael Lin and featured several accomplished Bay Area regulars. Denis Lee was the first to go, losing a crucial pot with queens against Steinman’s aces.
He exited shortly after. Scott Sanders and Curtis Kowalk followed, unable to gain traction.
Hrishikesh Kulkarni went out in sixth, losing a flip to Sasha Guerin. Noel Rodriguez, fresh off a seven-figure score last year, busted in fifth when his king-queen couldn’t overcome Steinman’s ace-nine. Guerin took fourth after running into Lin’s ace-queen.
Steinman kept the pressure on in three-handed play, eventually sending Lin out in third. In the final poker hand, Feiyue Wu shoved ace-five into Steinman’s pocket tens. No ace came, and Steinman sealed the win, adding another piece of hardware to his collection.
